OpenTactic

About opentactic

Making football
intelligence accessible

Whether you’re a PhD researcher applying maths to the game or a parent coaching your kid’s Sunday league team — we want you to share the same tools, the same passion, and the same conversation.

Our Mission

Democratize tactical analysis.

Football analysis has long been split into two worlds: expensive professional tools behind closed doors, and scattered free resources that never quite connect. We think the gap between them shouldn’t exist.

opentactic is a place where a data scientist exploring expected threat models and a grassroots coach drawing up set pieces for Saturday’s match can use the same quality tools — and learn from each other. Interactive pitch board, AI-assisted analysis, collaborative wiki, articles, video studio: all built to keep improving through the community’s feedback.

We’re transparent about where we are: the business model is still being shaped. Our priority is to make as many tools as possible accessible while building a sustainable path that covers infrastructure and fairly compensates the team. That balance is part of the journey.

What We Stand For

Core principles.

Accessible by Design

We believe football knowledge should be shared, not gatekept. We make as many tools as possible accessible to the widest audience, regardless of budget or background.

Craft Meets Data

Football is art and science. We honor the tactical craft while embracing data, AI, and modern tooling to push the boundaries of what analysis can be.

Shaped by Feedback

The tools get better because users tell us what they need. Every feature request, every bug report, every conversation pushes the platform forward. We build, you test, we iterate together.

Our Story

From idea to platform.

opentactic was born in the summer of 2025 from a simple frustration: why isn’t there a modern, well-designed tactical platform that’s actually accessible to everyone? The existing tools were either outdated, overpriced, or locked behind professional walls. So I decided to build one.

By November 2025, the project went from sketches to real development. What started as an interactive pitch board quickly grew into a full platform — combining tactical tools, AI-assisted analysis, a collaborative wiki, and a space where people with very different backgrounds can connect over the same passion for the game.

Summer 2025

The idea

The frustration crystallizes: why is there no modern, quality tactical platform accessible to everyone? First sketches, first convictions.

Nov 2025

Real kickoff

Development starts for real. Interactive pitch, drag-and-drop players, animation engine, the foundation takes shape.

2026

Building in public

Wiki, articles, academy, AI-assisted analysis, video studio. Shipping fast, learning from every user interaction.

Next

Growing together

The platform evolves through community feedback. Positional data, advanced video tools, and features we haven't imagined yet.

Founder & Developer

Worked on data and AI projects for the last decade. Believes in 3D as the new interface for applications. Less abstraction for less friction.

No classic engineering degree, no PhD in AI — just years of curiosity and passion spent digging into everything from data science to 3D graphics, from machine learning to frontend architecture. Self-taught through side projects, bootcamps, online courses, and a lot of stubborn persistence. opentactic is where all of it comes together.

Looking Ahead

We’re just getting started.

We dream of a place where a maths PhD researching pressing triggers and a parent preparing Sunday’s training session use the same tools — and make them better for each other. Quality tools that keep improving through real feedback, accessible to anyone with a passion for the game.
